If you want people to remember your existence, you have to find a way to make your life unforgettable!
Pin your memories (photos, videos...) and build chapters of your life with your friends and relatives.
One day, one client pitched me a ambitious idea. "What Facebook would be if the content of everyone profile was posted by our friends and relatives"
Geneziss was a product similar to a lot of existing social networks (photo-sharing, post, comments..) at first glance but the functioning needed to be way more sophisticated to bring a new level of collaboration.
The main challenge was to find a way of aggregating content from different people profiles and to sort it into a personal lifetime chapter.
Looking for inspiration, I decided to copy a new technology at that time: "The pin" (from pinterest).
After brainstorming, we decided to build a concept where the user could read any friends profiles and would able to pin any content to add into his own biography.
This project get me a massive headache in terms of policies settings and database infrastructure.... so many rules have been designed to make sure each user could be at the same time owner of his content and renter of friends' content.
In terms of design, this project was my first experience with Twitter Bootstrap... what a revelation!!!! Thanks Twitter for this, your framework really saves me days of working times.
For the story, when we started to design the user interface of this project, we came up with the idea to display the user profile with a timeline navigation. Incredibly, 1 month after launching the Geneziss beta, Facebook released his Timeline User profile.
I think it's fair to say we were 1 month ahead Facebook design team....lol
